Buschmann Tree Farm
Location: Lewiston
Year Acquired: 2020
Acreage: 28
Donor: Dun Roamin' Tree Farm LLC, c/o Edmund A Buschmann
Description: This land is managed as a working woodlot and the Buschmann’s continue to run The Dun Roamin’ Tree Farm which offers “cut your own” Christmas trees and camp firewood. Planting in the Christmas tree farm ceased in 2018, but operations will likely continue until the smallest trees (currently about one foot tall) grace someone’s living room.
Beyond the plantation, the remaining portion of the parcel rises and then slopes down to flatter terrain. Large pines and oaks dominate the ridge, but, just east of the ridge hemlock, red maple, and scattered pine are growing well around a small wooded wetland.
