Wagg Family Memorial Forest
Location: Lisbon
Year Acquired: 2020
Acreage: 146
Donor: Bob Wagg
Longtime member, Bob Wagg, donated this parcel to the Maine Woodland Owners land trust in 2020. It has a remarkable 5000 linear feet of waterfront and stunning views of the Androscoggin river. Wagg and his family own several hundred acres surrounding the donated piece, much of it acquired by he and his late wife, Eddiemae, over the past 50 years. The original farmhouse still stands, however, the farm is long gone and woods have replaced the fields. The Wagg land holdings have kept a large swath of forest intact in an area experiencing increased development pressure.
Maine Woodland Owners will actively manage these woods and it is enrolled in the Tree Growth Tax Law Program. There are snowmobiling and ATV trails that are open for public use. It is also important to Bob that this property will be used for education and so Maine Woodland Owners will conduct programing on the parcel periodically.
