Description: The Whitney Memorial Forest is located on the Whitney Road in the town of Gray. The property is characterized by rolling to flat terrain with several small brook crossings. During the late 1700’s and early 1800’s this entire property was used for agricultural purposes. Evidence of this use exists as stone walls and old wire fencing. As a result of the decline in agriculture in the area, the land was allowed to revert back to forestland.
Key Features: The most prominent key features of this property include abundant wildlife and evidence of a healthy, well managed, and growing forest.
